Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Brickline Allentown Concrete and Masonry website and any estimate, scheduling or work you arrange with us. By using the site, asking for an estimate or hiring us, you agree to them, so please read them before you do. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.
"We", "us" and "our" mean Brickline Allentown Concrete and Masonry. "You" means the person using the site or the homeowner or property owner we're doing work for.
What we do
We're a masonry contractor in Allentown, PA. We do brick, block, stone and concrete work for homes in Allentown and the cities around it, including foundation and chimney repair, tuckpointing, retaining walls, pavers, walkways, veneer and fireplaces. The services listed on our home page and service pages describe the kind of work we take on. They aren't an offer to do any particular job.
Every job starts with a look at your property, because the condition of the existing masonry, the ground and access decide what the work involves. We can turn down a job that falls outside what we do or that we can't do safely or well.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free and come with no obligation. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure at your property on the day we look. It lists the work, the materials and the price, and it stays open for the period written on it.
Masonry often hides problems until it's opened up, such as loose brick behind sound mortar, rotted backing, soft soil or failed footings. If we find something like that, we stop, show you what we found and give you the added cost in writing before we go on. We won't charge you for extra work you haven't approved, except where something has to be made safe right away and we can't reach you.
Prices on this website, if any appear, are general guidance and not a quote. Your written estimate or contract is what sets your price.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We'll give you a start date and an idea of how long the job should take, but both are estimates. Mortar, concrete and stone setting depend on temperature and rain, so we move work when the weather would hurt the result, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
Delays from weather, material shipments, permit or inspection timing, or conditions we find once the job is open aren't a breach of these terms. If you need to cancel or move your date, call or write to us as soon as you can. Any deposit or cancellation terms for your job are set out in your written estimate or contract, and materials we've already ordered or custom-cut for you may not be refundable.
Payment
Your written estimate or contract states what you owe and when, including any deposit and when the balance is due. Approved change orders are added to the total. If a payment is late, we can pause work until it's settled, and you're responsible for reasonable costs we incur collecting an overdue balance where Pennsylvania law allows it.
Our work and what we guarantee
We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work. If something we built or repaired isn't right, tell us and we'll come back and look at it. Any specific warranty on your job, including what it covers and for how long, is the one written in your contract.
Outside that written warranty, we don't promise more than the law requires. Masonry and concrete move with the seasons and the ground, so hairline cracks, slight color differences between new and old mortar or brick, and natural variation in stone are normal and not defects. Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from settling of soil we didn't prepare, water problems we didn't work on, misuse, de-icing salts, later work by others, or materials you supplied. Manufacturers' warranties on products we install come from the manufacturer, and we'll pass along their terms.
Limits on our liability
To the extent Pennsylvania law allows, our responsibility for any claim about our work is limited to fixing the work or refunding what you paid for the part in question. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property, lost income or costs from delays outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for injury or damage caused by our own negligence, or any right you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Using this website
The information on this site, including pages about our company and our services, is general information about masonry and concrete work. It isn't engineering advice or a substitute for an inspection of your property. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee it's complete or current, and the site is provided as it is.
The text, photos and design on this site belong to us, and you can't copy or reuse them for commercial purposes without our written permission. Links to outside sites are for your convenience, and we aren't responsible for their content.
Settling disagreements
If you're unhappy with something, please talk to us first, because most problems get sorted out quickly once we're back on site. If we can't settle it between us, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court.
Any lawsuit about these terms or our work will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, unless the law requires a different court for your claim.
Governing law
Pennsylvania law governs these terms and our work, without regard to its conflict of law rules. That holds even for jobs we do outside Pennsylvania, except where the law of the state the work is in must apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies to your use of the site. A change won't alter a contract you've already signed with us unless we both agree to it in writing. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
